Dear Friends,
Greetings from kanthari. How are you? We hope this message finds you well.
The picture above shows some of the participants of the kanthari course 2023 in a team building session.
They are given a raw egg, for which they need to create a cover, that will protect the egg from breaking when the package is thrown off the balcony of the Auditorium. Only natural materials that are available in the campus garden can be used, hence this requires team work and finding creative solutions.
This scene symbolizes kanthari’s mission to equip participants from around the world with the knowledge and tools they need to bring about positive change in their communities.
The participants, from left to right:
– Sara (27, India) empowers abused children so they can protect and defend themselves.
– Karan (38, Nepal) provides education and healthcare in the remote Oda Village.
– Malak (23, Jordan) transforms refugee camps into liveable environments.
– Dr. Johny (66, Indonesia) fights against the stigmatization of people with leprosy.
– Mutongi (30, Zimbabwe) is building an orphanage for HIV-positive children.
– Krishna (28, Nepal) supports farmers through sustainable agriculture.
– Bosede (49, Nigeria) empowers marginalized single women to become financially independent
These are just 7 of the 22 kanthari participants from 11 different countries, who have returned home last week, to start their impact making organisations.
Since 2009 we have now trained 280 change makers from 55 countries. Which has resulted in 170+ organisations that are positively impacting the lives of thousands of people who are situated on the margins of society, every day.
Your support to kanthari matters!
All of this is only possible thanks to your generous support!
Your help has not only realized dreams, but also continues to bring light into a time characterized by uncertainty and difficulties.
kanthari graduates have shown that positive developments are possible even or especially during challenging times.
With your donation you can help to ensure that more committed people like Sara, Karan, Malak, Johny, Mutongi, Krishna or Bosede are trained to address social and/or environmental problems in their communities.
We are grateful to you for spreading the word about the scholarship based kanthari impact leadership course, so it reaches those who could benefit from the same.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for being part of the kanthari journey!
We wish you a wonderful festive season, a merry Christmas, a happy new year, and more than that: health, inspiration, energy, and great ideas to solve problems.
the entire kanthari team,
sabriye, paul
